Home Theater Design

Planning is key to developing a truly exciting home movie theater experience, and this involves planning and preparing for every stage of the movie theater’s development. Of course the movie theater is your own, and should be designed according to your own requirements and desires, but it is also worthwhile to consider the needs and tastes of those family members and friends that you expect will be enjoying the movies with you.

Placing the items in your home theater system is the most important stage of your planning. Your large projector screen will need to be positioned where a good view can be had, and there is no sunlight falling on the screen. Your speakers will need to be placed around the room at points that will provide the best quality surround sound for all of the audience. When installing your set of speakers, you will need to pay close attention to maximizing the sound quality inside your home movie theater, and minimizing the sound that escapes the room.

The seating arrangements will need to be considered next, with comfort and space your priorities. A seating plan, with generous estimates of required space, will allow you to make the most of the space that is available to you and install the correct number of size of chairs. There are various other accessories, that have already been discussed, that will also need to be prepared for and space allocated to.

Ideally, your movie screen will be twenty-seven inches wide or more, and this will allow you to see the entire picture at the highest quality. When selecting a new television, try and find a model that plays Dolby Digital audio and video formats, and look out for other models that come with an inbuilt projection system, as this will make the rest of the process much simpler.

Once you have purchased your new movie cinema screen, you will need to install the item in your home movie theater. This can be a complex process, so it is always worth reading through the instructions before you begin and ensuring that you have all the correct equipment and wires in place.

Once you have planned and fully installed the items in your new home movie theater, check that there are no wires running across any walkway and that your seats are all comfortable and correctly positioned for the best possible view of the screen. Sit in your chairs and stretch out - this is the only way of being certain that your seating plan has allowed for an ideal use of space.

At this stage, you are ready to begin watching movies in your new home movie theater.
